“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”- Isaiah 6:8
There are these things called love languages. There are five of them overall. You have physical touch, words of affirmation, acts of service, gifts, and quality time. My love languages are quality time and physical touch. I want to focus on quality time. What’s the most important thing about having quality time? Availability.
You have to be available to see others or to accomplish major things in your life. Availability might be one of the most important traits to have with your relationship with Jesus. Jesus loves us so much that He doesn’t ask for us to be perfect, but to be available. When you’re available to Him, He can use you, move you, and shape you to the mission He has called you to be on. He also enjoys three words that we can say to Him that can make Him move with compassion.
No, it’s not “I love you”. Even though Jesus loves that, it is “here I am”. When you are like Isaiah in Isaiah 6, who was ready for something new in his life, you will say to the Lord “here I am”. This will put your heart in a vulnerable spot where you are open to His true will, not your own. Availability doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to a smooth journey with Jesus. There may, or will be, more challenges to come in your life. When you become available for Jesus, you’re in the business to find more people that are willing to be available for Him as well.
We are all in the business of telling our mates about Jesus. This is not an easy task either. Sometimes it can take years to lead our mates to the Lord, statistically, it takes around five years. It can take even longer than that. Anyone who is involved in reaching people for Christ will tell you, we are definitely in this for the long haul. But please know this, we cannot back down. We cannot quit, it is just not an option. The best quality to have Jesus in your life is availability. Here I am.
