For to us, a child is born, to us, a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.- Isaiah 9:6
When you hear a certain word, something pops in your head. If I say “Jesus”, what comes in your mind? I know for me, when I think of Jesus, multiple things pop up. When I think of Jesus, I think of Him being simply God. I can’t just see Him being only “good” for He is more than just good. He is great. He is perfect. He is my God. He did everything perfect on this earth. He never sins nor hates His children. When Jesus said He and His Father are one(John 10:30), He wanted us to see that God is loving, not a God who is strict and sits on a throne with a gavel. Jesus is the perfect God as we are His imperfect children.
Jesus is about being our friend than a foe. He built us to have a relationship with Him. He wants us to tell Him everything, the good and the bad. He wants us to go to Him for help and comfort. We have to see Him as a friend because some people think negatively about who Jesus is. They probably look at Him as a foe, the One who just punish people for no reason. In my opinion, the only reason they see punishment for they don’t have a deep intimate relationship with Jesus. For if you have a close relationship with Him, you know everything works for His good and ours(Romans 8:28). He knows what is best for us. A good friend knows what is best for us. Jesus is the ultimate friend for us, not a foe.
Not only Jesus is our friend, but our King. He is our Leader. Jesus has authority over everything on this earth(1 Corinthians 15:27). God gave His Son the authority to make sure the Good News is spread to everyone. The world likes to tell us differently. The world tells us things that can be false. When the world tells us these things, we can be fearful. God didn’t give us the spirit of fear but of love(2 Timothy 1:7). Only Jesus has the authority to give us the Spirit to conquer anything that doesn’t give Him the glory. He is the perfect leader with the perfect authority to give to His imperfect children to bless this world.
