“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”- 2 Corinthians 12:9
You spilled food all on your shirt. A glass cup slipped through your hand and breaks on the floor. You left your dog out of the crate while you’re at work, and return to ripped pillows and couch. What all of these have in common? A mess. There are more mess examples that I can talk about but we can all agree that we don’t like any mess. Physical messes are the worst, but what about the spiritual mess? The spiritual mess that you told yourself you gonna stop sinning such as lying, speaking hate, sexual interactions before marriage and etc. There’s nothing beautiful about a mess, or is it?
Our biggest messages in life come from messes. Our biggest testimonies come from tests. There’s only one person that can connect our mess to our message. There’s only one person that can connect our test to our testimony. Jesus Christ is the connection. Jesus came down on this earth for you. He knew everything about according to Psalms 139. He knew the mess you were, are, and will do in your life. He is ready to give you the ultimate gift to overcome your mess. He is always ready to give you grace. Grace is something no man/woman can give to another. Only Jesus himself can give it to you. Not only He will give you grace, but mercy to show how important you are to Him.
I was reading Your Mess Matters by my friend Luke Lezon, and he made an acronym for when we are dealing with messes in our lives. He called it the “ABC”. Once I first heard it, I was thinking about the band known as The Jackson 5. The “ABC” of dealing with our mess is simple yet powerful. We need to approach God with the mess, bank on God to help us overcome the mess, and choose to see God’s glory through the mess.
No one doesn’t like being in a mess, but let me tell you that God using your mess to mold you into the person you are becoming one day at a time. There’s a purpose in the pain. Jesus works best in your mess. Your mess matters to Him. Let Him in your mess. Surrender your mess to Him. Let Him mold your mess into something beautiful that will bless you that will bless others. If Jesus can bless my mess, then I know He can bless yours as well. Your mess matters.
