“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”-Psalms 34:18 We all have experienced heartbreaks. Rather it’s through relationships, friendships, movies, or even sports, we all have experienced a heartbreak. Confession time, I have a big heart. I love....love! I love seeing people happy. I love seeing people receive their blessings because they worked and prayed so hard to get it. I enjoy to help others, encourage others, and love others. I try my best to keep in my mind of 1 John 4:7, “Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.” Since I have a big heart, I will pursue a female that I pray to have common interest with. What do I look for in a woman? I look for God-fearing, family centered, friendly, work ethic, independent, silly, mature, and communication. Sometimes I am blessed to find someone that matches those traits and sometimes I am not. I’ll just focus on the successful part. After a few conversation, I would take the female out for dinner. The dinner will go amazing until i ask, “Have you been in past relationships?” Once I ask the question, the female will go into a “remembrance” where she seems uncomfortable to talk about it. Dinners will always go great until you realize you trigger something negative when you bring up the past. Not only females, but males too, can’t let go of their past when someone or something drastically happened. It’s hard to talk about being heartbroken from your past. When we are heartbroken, we tend to build a wall between ourselves and happiness. When we build a wall, not only you blocking the negatives in your life, but also the blessings. Our God cannot bless you when you create walls. He is a God that builds bridges not walls. He is a forgiving God, and knows what is best for your life. God’s rejection, or heartbreak, is His protection over you and your heart. Sometimes we have to go through a heartbreak to reach our breakthrough. He has a purpose for everything in your life. “For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.”- Isaiah 55:9 So after a successful dinner, I would continue to pursue of having a close friendship that may turn into a relationship. When I try to pursue a female, and it doesn’t go the way I attended it to be, I get heartbroken by either being ignored or she goes back to her ex. Since I have a big heart, I cannot be angry with her. I try my best to pray, and ask forgiveness even when it hurts. I would call my mom and cry from my disappointment I question her by asking, “Why did God give me a big heart?” My mother always respond to, “Because God made you special.” I thank God that He gave me confirmation from others to know why I am special in His eyes. You are special in His eyes as well. Don’t go back to your past. Don’t go back to your ex. Don’t go back to the hurt. Don’t go back to the pain. You’re bigger and better than that. You deserve love not toxic. You deserve peace not drama. God has a blessing with your name on it. You are special!
