The Journey of Peace

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”- John‬ ‭14:27‬ What can I say about peace? Everybody wants it. Few have it. Even fewer know how to find it. Some people wants the kind of peace that’s just being content, knowing that all is well no matter how stormy things appear. As for me, still growing up in this world, I made to feel it’s my responsibility to take care of things, so it’s a true trait of submission when I can be at peace in my spirits even when things seem to be in chaos. The best thing that I am learning about my christian journey is that God never goes to bed. He has it all under His control. So next time when you ask God to help bring peace to your storm before you sleep, rest easy. Be at peace. In Isaiah 26:3 says, “He will keep in perfect peace all those who trust in him, whose thoughts turn often to the Lord!” Peace is not the absence of problems, it is the presence of God. Problems are part of life and we’ll always have difficulties. We must not let them rob us of our peace. Peace is a practiced, learned decision to just sit back, to relax in knowing that God knows you, He knows everything about your life, and He is in absolute control of what’s happening. Peace is relying on the knowledge of God’s love for you and believing that nothing is coming to you that isn’t first passing through His hand.
