The Journey of Life

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”- Jeremiah 29:11

Life is a journey. When we are in this journey of life, we must have a plan to get through any circumstances that may lead us astray. God said this to the people of Babylon to give them hope when they had been exiled from the city. Not only did He say it to the people of Babylon, but to us right now wherever we are in the world.

I want to let you know, first, do not question God’s plans for you. His plans are bigger and better than our plans will ever be. Second, you must be fully committed to God’s plans. Once you give yourself to Him, He will reward you with blessings that you need right now. Lastly, His plans are always for the good. God won’t put you in a place where you efforts wont be maximized for His glory.

God’s plans may seem like some of the smallest things, but may end up being the biggest impact to those around you. God’s plans give us opportunities to praise Him wherever we are. God does know the plans He has for you and for me. They are plans for our welfare and our prosperity.

However, it is just as important to acknowledge that God’s thoughts are not our thoughts, and our ways are not His ways (Isaiah 55:8). God’s plan isn’t always what we thought it was going to be. But God’s plan is always best even if we don’t understand it at the time. We know though, “that in all things, God works together for the good of those who love Him” (Romans 8:28) We know that when God shuts a door, he opens another. We know that God is working through every event in our lives to make us more and more dependent on Him for everything we need. We need to realize that God’s plan is not always the easiest in our eyes, but it is always the best. As Jesus said, we are to “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you” (Matthew 6:33).

Even in an insanely hard situation, God’s plan will stand. He is a God that knows all, and I know His plans are amazing and will guide us through this journey of life.
